Individual Coaching

What Is It?

All relationships can be hard! Adoption carries an extra layer of difficulties with the grief and loss felt by all members of the triad at one point or another. Many times, those in the adoption community have concerns adoption professionals are uniquely trained to address. Stephanie addresses this need through coaching, which utilizes discussion and activities to provoke thought, clarify values and develop goals to improve relationships and functioning.

Coaching is not counseling or therapy and does not diagnose conditions. Insurance does not cover coaching and for that reason, pricing is based on a sliding scale. Contact me for more details or to schedule a free 15-minute intake consultation.

Who Can Benefit?

● Adoptive parents who are concerned about their child’s behavior or feel that they are not meeting their child’s unique needs.
● An adolescent adoptee who is struggling with feelings of anger, isolation, racism, or identity formation and wants help navigating them.
● An adoptee, adoptive parent or birth parent who wants help recognizing grief, trauma, or unhealthy communication practices and how it affects their relationships.
● Pre- or post- adoptive parents who want help understanding how their own upbringings can affect their parenting or attachment styles.

Family Coaching

What Is It?

The goal of family coaching is for two distinct members of the adoption constellation to come to a mutual understanding as they address an issue or problem. During the coaching sessions, all parties are encouraged to be actively involved while the coach facilitates communication, empowering participants as they recognize solutions and improve relationships. Coaching provides a place where all family members feel heard and seen in a safe environment.

All coaching sessions are provided via video conferencing unless a client is in the Middle Tennessee area. Coaching is not counseling or therapy, and is not covered by insurance, therefore pricing is based on a sliding scale. Contact me for more details or for a free 15-minute intake consultation.
